Before I even owned a flat, I owned a China set. I had to buy it. It was beautiful, with ponies on it. I bought it a piece at a time. It took me ages to collect it all.
This morning I opened my kitchen cupboard and it all came crashing out. The vibrations from the washing machine must have knocked things out of place. Two plates and a bowl smashed, the rest is – miraculously – intact.
My ex always told me there were too many things crammed into these kitchen cupboards.
I guess he knew that, sooner or later, things were going to break.
If we’re speaking in metaphors, maybe it’s time to collect a new set 🙂
